Chartering a yacht in Croatia - why rent a yacht from Split?

The easiest way to get to Split would probably be by plane. The international Split Airport is the second busiest Airport in Croatia with 3.3 million passengers going through in 2019.. Located in Kaštela, some 20 kilometers from Split, it connects the city with numerous European destinations.

If you would prefer to visit Split by car at your disposal, among others, is the A1 motorway, the longest motorway in Croatia, connecting Split with the Croatian capital Zagreb.

In addition to these, you can also reach Split by boat / ferry from Italy and, if you are not in a hurry, by train coming from the northern part of the country.

Split has a great offer of various types of boats

With several marinas located in Split, Kaštela and Trogir, as well as the Port of Split, you really have a wide choice of various types of boats available for charter. From sailboats, catamarans and motor boats to luxury yachts and small cruise ships, at your disposal with or without crew.

Split is a great starting point to explore the Adriatic coast

When chartering a yacht from the city Split area, depending on the time you have at your disposal, you can choose to head down south to Dubrovnik visiting Korčula, the birth place of Marco Polo, and Mljet National Park along the way.

If you decide to go north you may experience sailing through Kornati, the densest archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea, which is also a National Park.

Last but definitely not least, you might just want to enjoy some island hoping between the charming central Dalmatian islands like Brač, Hvar, Vis and others.

Regardless of whether you are coming to Croatia not only for a sailing holiday but are also planning to spend a few days a shore or you'll be spending some time in Split only on the day of your boarding and disembarking, Split has a lot to offer.

In case you are in need of accommodation there are plenty holiday rentals and hotels you can chose from. With restaurants and bars at almost every corner, you won’t have a problem in finding your special place where to you’ll be able try some Croatian wines and local specialties or just relax with a cup of coffee like a local.

In addition to these, there are numerous tours, events and recreational activities available in or around Split for you to enjoy. Just to visit two of several UNESCO World Heritage sites in Croatia, the Historic City of Trogir and Historical Complex of Split with the Palace of Diocletian, the ancient Roman city of Solana and Klis Fortress, which are all a short drive away from each other, you’ll need a few days.

The main problem you might face is not having enough time to do and see all the things you would like to. But you can always solve this by coming for another visit next year.
